Dr. Saeung (“Cy-Young“) has been with our group since 2015. She grew up on this side of town and graduated from Grand Ledge HS in 2004. As the first generation of her family to finish high school, Dr. Saeung received her bachelor’s in Neuroscience from University of Michigan and her DDS from University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 2013. She went on for additional training through General Practice Residency & Hospital Dentistry at the UCSF-Community Medical Center & the VA Fresno in California, in which she focused on the medically complex patients, the immunocompromised, and high cavity-risk children. She returned to her Alma Mater to complete Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Internship to fasten skills in wisdom teeth extraction, dental implants, and has been serving as adjunct clinical assistant professor at the dental school since 2018.
Dr. Saeung enjoys a wide range of restorative work such as crowns and bridges, dentures, and root canal treatment through first molars. She’s trained in TMJ pain investigation and Sleep-related Breathing Disorders. She offers traditional orthotics for nighttime as well as a naturopathic route through minerals and diet supplements that have been researched and accepted by the medical fields to help reduce psychosomatic activity which leads to daytime clenching and grinding. She particularly focuses on atraumatic oral surgery techniques which she utilizes in the extraction of impacted wisdom teeth, implant placement, bone and soft tissue grafting, and pre-denture bone and tissue contouring. Dr. Saeung strives to be a well-rounded dental provider and seeks continuing education regularly. She earned the Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentistry in 2020, a prestigious credential that recognizes AGD member’s commitment to excellence in dental education, awarded to about 5% of dental professionals in the US. The Fellowship Award symbolizes excellence in the dental profession and Dr Saeung’s commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
Dr Saeung recently completed the training and became one of a few Pinhole® Surgical Technique providers in Michigan to help patients resolve gum recession issues through minimally invasive rejuvenation method—technique less than 6,000 dentists and periodontists worldwide learned to perform. Ideas get bounced back and forth when all the docs are together!
